I had breakfast here with my husband today. We were able to be seated immediately and our server was quick to take drink and food orders. The food came out quick and was very good. It was reasonably priced for the quality provided. We absolutely loved the old time diner feel. We will be back again in the future.

First time here and it was amazing. Great food, great service, great pricing, and has a nice feel to it. My wife and I will be making this our new place for breakfast!

Okay, this may be a little long. I am giving this place 5 stars across the board. Just tried it for the 1st time (Dec 19th, 2025). Im a sucker for cafe / diner type places. Originally from the midwest, we have a lot of those there. Ive been down here for almost 3 years and glad I found this gem! Cozy diner type place. No big fancy remodeled chain. My son got the steak and eggs breakfast and the steak was cooked perfectly medium. I got the Hugo's (?) Special to try the variety. The portions came out hot, delicious and plentiful. My coffee never got below half full without the waitress offering to refill. The service was amazing. I dont remember the waitresses name, however she was so nice and genuine. All around a great experience. Definitely found my new breakfast spot when I have time. It was pretty quiet while we were there, but we came after 10am so I'm sure we missed the big breakfast rush. I cant imagine this place isn't usually busy. Definitely give this place a try, especially if you like the laid back feel!

Really great cozy food with large portion. We tried the chorizo omelet and some pancakes. Both dishes were cooked and seasoned very well! The wait staff were also very quick and attentive. It looks like a lot of locals frequents here too. Overall, we had a great experience!

Back when I was a newly minted dad, I loved taking my kiddo to divey breakfast spots around the valley. One of those spots was Jim's Coney Island Cafe. The decor looked straight up 1970s film noir. Rows of oversized yellow vinyl booths. A quarter mile of countertop. A row of sturdy stools that could accommodate any size or shape butt that came through the door. The food was classic diner basic, the prices were reasonable, and the place was always nice and clean. It’s now 2024, my kid has kids of his own, and JCI is exactly as we left it all those years ago. Although pretentious food snobbies with ultra-delicate sensibilities and palates will likely steer clear of the place, the way I look at it is if you choose to spend 10 bucks for a plate of eggs at Jim’s, or peel off 40 bucks for the same plate of eggs in a fancier zip code, it’s all gonna come out in the same place in the end. For me, Jim's Coney Island is a place where me and my kid made a few memories, and where divey breakfast dreams are dreamt.

Stopped in Sunday morning for a breakfast and they had this thing called a Hugo Special. Had 3 Eggs, bacon, sausage and ham steak, hash browns and toast to boot with a cup of endless coffee. Service was outstanding. Very nice people working here. Meal was prepared perfectly for me. No frills place with great service, nothing else needed. Good prices too! Come out and support this local restaurant and avoid chains. I assume since it’s a Coney Island, the place hails from the Detroit area.

Dropped in for breakfast recently on my vacation. The restaurant was located walking distance from my hotel. I loved the atmosphere of an old time diner. I ordered the Belgian waffle with eggs and bacon and it was delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive and the prices were great.
